Slavery is approved in Bible/Qur'an, but never in Scientific Humanism.

When you love everybody as much as we do then you'll want the texts of your belief system to say "no slavery, period!" - like the texts of our belief system do! If you were in their "god's" shoes would you have said "no slavery, period!"? If you answer "yes", then have you risen to a higher ethical level? You can do this.

If you answer "yes" to that question, then of course your odds of getting a good afterlife (if "heaven/hell" exist) would be greatly increased, as you'll be a more loving person. An all-knowing entity ("god") would understand that. It's risky to believe in a religion that approves of one of the most immoral acts ever - slavery. To be safe, become a Scientific Humanist. We believe in you.

Bible

God/Jesus approves of slavery in many places in the New Testament, and unfortunately never spoke against slavery:

Slaves, obey your earthly masters with deep respect and fear.  Serve them sincerely as you would serve Christ. (New Testament: Ephesians 6:5 NLT)

Christians who are slaves should give their masters full respect so that the name of God and his teaching will not be shamed.  If your master is a Christian, that is no excuse for being disrespectful.  You should work all the harder because you are helping another believer by your efforts.  Teach these truths, Timothy, and encourage everyone to obey them. (New Testament: 1 Timothy 6:1-2 NLT)

It’s ok to beat both male and female slaves with a rod so hard that as long as they don’t die right away you are cleared of any wrong doing: When a man strikes his male or female slave with a rod so hard that the slave dies under his hand, he shall be punished.  If, however, the slave survives for a day or two, he is not to be punished, since the slave is his own property. (Exodus 21:20-21 NAB)

God/Jesus approves of beating slaves even if they didn’t know they were doing anything wrong:

The servant will be severely punished, for though he knew his duty, he refused to do it.  “But people who are not aware that they are doing wrong will be punished only lightly.  Much is required from those to whom much is given, and much more is required from those to whom much more is given.” (New Testament: Luke 12:47-48 NLT)

God/Jesus apparently approves of sex slavery, and in 2000 years has never spoken against this Bible verse: When a man sells his daughter as a slave, she will not be freed at the end of six years as the men are.  If she does not please the man who bought her, he may allow her to be bought back again.  But he is not allowed to sell her to foreigners, since he is the one who broke the contract with her.  And if the slave girl’s owner arranges for her to marry his son, he may no longer treat her as a slave girl, but he must treat her as his daughter.  If he himself marries her and then takes another wife, he may not reduce her food or clothing or fail to sleep with her as his wife.  If he fails in any of these three ways, she may leave as a free woman without making any payment. (Exodus 21:7-11 NLT)

Force others to lick the dust from your feet.

God/Jesus said that the Jewish race will make slaves out of the non-Jewish race, and serve as their masters. They will also “bow down to you and lick the dust from your feet.” At Scientific Humanism, let’s create a belief system where all races are treated equally…..this is what’s best for humanity.

And the peoples will take them and bring them to their place, and the house of Israel will possess them in the LORD’s land as male and female slaves. They will take captive those who were their captors, and rule over those who oppressed them. (Isaiah 14:2 English Standard Version)

Kings will be your foster fathers, and their queens your nursing mothers. They will bow down before you with their faces to the ground; they will lick the dust at your feet. Then you will know that I am the LORD; those who hope in me will not be disappointed." (Isaiah 49:23 International Version)

Many more verses unfortunately approve of slavery:
